Route:        Footpaths and lanes via Frome Valley Way to Hom Green, return on river bank via Drummond Farm. One steepish slope at start and a few stiles.

Route:        Relatively easy walk with memorable view over Tintern Abbey and the Wye Valley.

Route:        Via Kempley Church (Saxon) to Much Marcle Church with its famous yew tree.  Return via Hellens and Hallwood Green joining the Daffodil Way back to Kempley.

Route:        Steady climb to top of May Hill, with 360⁰ views.  Return to Glasshouse.

Route:        From Skenfrith Castle to White Castle.   Outstanding views on much of the walk. Several steep climbs and descents and numerous stiles. Linear walk car sharing to be arranged.  Those intending to walk should contact a leader by Wednesday morning.

Route:        Flat walk from Upton to Newbridge Green returning along the Severn Way. Good views of Malvern and Cotswold hills.  6 stiles.

Wednesday 30th June       History & Archaeology of Merthyr Tydfil area   8 miles  Moderate

Route:        Via River Tach Fechan to Pantsam Viaduct, Morlais Castle visiting sites of historical and archaeological interest. Return on other river bank.   Much of walk on tramways and Taff Trail.  One short steep climb using hand holds out of a quarry.

Route:        To St. Maughan’s Church, Newcastle, Llanfaenor and Llandishty Cottage. Return via Llangattock and the Maypole.  Many stiles, 1 gradual and 1 short steep climb. Pleasant views, 3 interesting churches. Centenary of Charles Rolls’ death will be commemorated at Llangattock Church on Monday 12th July 2010 at 12 noon.

Route:        Climb from Pengenfford, to reach scarp of Blacks to Y Das, then Waun Fach. Return via Pen Trumau & Rhiw Trumau around Castell Dinas.  Several climbs.

Route:        Along the east bank of the River Usk then a long climb to Coed Cwnwr then back to Usk, hopefully good views.  Some stiles & hilly parts.  Can be very boggy.

Route:        To riverbank at Minsterworth, find best viewing point.  Return via Churcham to cars.

Route:           Scenic Walk, initially involving steep ascent from Grosmont with good views north.  Final stretch follows the River Monnow to Skenfrith.  Numerous stiles

Route:           Steady climb to top of May Hill with 360 deg views.  Return to Glasshouse via paths & minor roads.  NB this walk will be taken at a gentle pace and will therefore be suitable for everyone.

Route:           Kings Capel across fields to Sellack. Riverside walks and up lane to near Kentland house. Easy downhill slope to Hoarwithy cross river bridge and return to Kings Capel.

Route:           Across fields to Western-under-Penyard, up church lane to Penyard Woods, across edge of woods to Parkfields, up hill to Dancing Green, through village, fields and roads to Pontshill, fields to Western-under-Penyard and lanes back to Bromsash.  Stiles

Thursday 4th November              Redbrook to Newlands                4½  miles Moderate

Route:           Redbrook to Newlands through woods mainly.  Return via Newlands meander.  Steep climb at beginning and end, one stile.

Route:            Follow the river to Hole-in-the-Wall, cross over small suspension bridge to Foy Church.  Return via Brampton Abbotts.  Easy, mostly flat, walking

Route:           A circular walk from the car park to the River Wye to see Breinton Spring.  Follow river then lanes and paths to Wareham Farm, Wyevale Wood, Upper Wood onto Breinton Village.  Then lanes to join Wye Valley Walk back to car park.  Several stiles

Route:           Forest tracks and lanes through Hope Mansell.  One climb is particularly steep and difficult if wet.  Various stiles.  This is a linear walk – car sharing to be arranged.  Those intending to walk should contact a leader by Monday morning.

Route:           Gradual descent via field paths to old Stowfield factory.  Then a lovely walk along the line of the river.  Short section of old railway bed then moderate climb back to cars.  6 stiles, moderate climb.

Route:           Follow the lower Wye valley enjoying 4 viewpoints and visiting the Cleddon Falls.  No stiles

Thursday 16th December             Around Gorsley for a 2 part walk, options are to take either or both:                        Morning - 4½ miles Moderate,     Afternoon - 4 miles Easy

Morning Route:  Gorsley Common to Linton.  Descend to west of Linton ridge and climb to Linton Hill.  Via Little Gorsley to Dalcross for picnic lunch indoors!   Hills and usual countryside.
